In a style, say I select a a pattern such as Radix Light. If I then choose to switch to "Curve" mode, I want the Radix pattern to remain and essentially move into an edit mode where I can use Radix pattern as a basis for further extension of adjustment. Currently the pattern's colours are ignored and the Curve starts from a forced default. This can be useful if starting a brand new style, but prevents building on what exists already
